My Story
Riba Khaleda Eshanzada, MSW, LCSW, is a leading figure in enhancing mental health services for the Middle Eastern North African (MENA) and Muslim populations. In her role as a Cultural Community Liaison at Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health, she provided invaluable consultation, conducts educational trainings, and presents to various government agencies, emphasizing the specific needs and challenges faced by the MENA communities. Her dedication extends to her position as an adjunct professor at Cal State San Bernardino School of Social Work, where she mentors the next generation of social workers.​Ms.Eshanzada's extensive experience includes offering Continuing Education trainings for providers, focusing on better serving the Muslim American community, and delivering Crisis Intervention Training among other specialized trainings. Her past roles include being a Crisis Intervention Trainer with law enforcement agencies and a forensic clinical therapist at Robert Presley Detention Center. She has collaborated with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to teach stigma reduction classes, encouraging the Muslim community to seek mental health services and helping to eliminate barriers to care. Ms. Eshanzada's comprehensive approach and commitment make her a pivotal advocate for mental health within the MENA populations.
